Dawn of the Darkroom: A Sip and See with Beers & Cameras

Last Thursday, Safelight Labs presented its latest and greatest creation to a crowd of locals who’ve been itching to get their hands on a DIY development space.

In association with the film community organizers behind Beers & Cameras, scores of film photography aficionados passed through the revolving darkroom door to bask in the red light and experience the DIY Lab firsthand.

It was an opportunity to learn about the community lab’s membership program and its potential for building a community well-versed in the craft of film photography.

An open house that made you feel at home; guests had a final chance to marvel at Sayra Alejandra Vasquez’s double exposures from her solo show, Alchemist and geek out with Rob over his Korona Panoramic View Camera from the early 20th century. It was an evening to sip beer, see the darkroom, and share a passion for an art form at the dawn of a resurgence.
